On the Hawaiian Islands, the ocean is king. Respecting the ocean’s power and its inhabitants is very much a Hawaiian tradition. When the revered Hawaiian monk seal became endangered (with less than 1,000 of them left), a dedicated group formed to protect them. Word of a distressed seal stranded on a beach, or entangled in debris, gets out the troops. In this episode Richard joins this band of selfless marine lovers on their rounds and even participates in the burial at sea of a beloved monk seal who recently passed away!
